Sensor Skin

UCLA Graduate Research Project:

Design and classification of custom sensor skin. We mounted the sensor skin to a robotic arm and then classified different surfaces, edges and motions using the skin response alone. 

Goals

  • Determine feedback response of sensor skin

  • Attach skin to robotic arm and program exploratory motions

  • Design and fabricate range of stimuli (small shapes or contours)

  • Correlate data from skin to different objects and interactions
